Federal and State laws prohibit discrimination in respect to the sale and rental of real estate because of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, marital status, age, height, weight, physical or mental disability, or familial status. Our firm has been in the forefront representing victims of discrimination in Federal and State Courts.  Successful suits have been brought against cooperatives and condominiums which barred African Americans and people with disabilities from becoming members or purchasing units.  Our firm has developed innovative training programs for housing providers and trade groups to ensure compliance with the laws and to encourage open, equal and fair housing.  One of the first Housing Discrimination Law classes in this State was taught by John A. Obee at Michigan State University Law School.
