Katherine Wainright Shensky is the sole shareholder of Katherine Wainright Shensky, P.C. Her firm has recently become "of counsel" to Wood, Kull, Herschfus, Obee & Kull, P.C. Ms. Shensky received her undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan in 1974, and her Juris Doctorate degree in 1981 from the Detroit College of Law. While at the Detroit College of Law, Ms. Shensky participated in the school’s Moot Court program. She argued before selected members of the Michigan Supreme Court, and was subsequently honored to be invited to the national finals of the Wagner Labor Law Competition in New York.

Ms. Shensky primarily focuses her practice in family law and civil litigation. She has litigated a wide range of family law issues in both the trial courts and the appellate courts in Michigan. Two of her successfully litigated cases, which represent application of the law to unique facts, can be found in published decisions of the Court of Appeals. In addition to her work in the family law area, Ms. Shensky has handled a broad variety of civil trial matters for both plaintiffs and defendants with emphasis on employment-related issues.

Ms. Shensky is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Family Law and Negligence Sections of the State Bar. She serves as a mediator in both Oakland and Wayne Counties and participates as a moot court judge for law school students at her alma mater. In addition, Ms. Shensky serves on the Executive Board of the non-profit Michigan Classic Ballet Company and contributes time to community programs which are designed to introduce elementary school students to the role of the law. She is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
