Katherine W. Shensky
Katherine Wainright Shensky is a Vice-President and Shareholder at Wood, Kull, Herschfus, Obee & Kull, P.C. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 1974, and her Juris Doctorate degree in 1981 from the Detroit College of Law. She joined the firm in 2005, and became a shareholder in 2007.
Ms. Shensky primarily focuses her practice in family law and civil litigation. She has litigated a wide range of family law issues in both the trial courts and the appellate courts of Michigan since being admitted to practice, including issues of first impression, which have become part of the State’s published jurisprudence. In addition, Ms. Shensky has handled a broad variety of civil trial matters on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts in Michigan. Her experience also includes handling ERISA matters at both the trial and the appellate level.
Ms. Shensky is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Family Law and Negligence Sections of the State Bar of Michigan. She serves as a case evaluator in both Oakland and Wayne Counties, and participates as a moot court judge for law school students at her alma mater and for the Michigan Center for Civic Education and Law. Ms. Shensky serves on the Executive Board of the non-profit Michigan classic Ballet Company and contributes time to community programs designed to introduce elementary school students to the role the law plays in their lives. She is admitted to practice before the courts of the State of Michigan, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
