David J. Wood acts of counsel to Wood, Kull, Herschfus, Obee & Kull, P.C. Mr. Wood, together with his brother, William A. Wood, Jr., founded Wood and Wood, P.C., the predecessor to Wood-Kull, in 1957. Mr. Wood managed the firm for over sixty years before his retirement in 2018. Mr. Wood concentrates his practice in real estate and business, estate planning, and probate.

Mr. Wood graduated with distinction from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1951 and is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Mr. Wood received his Juris Doctorate, with distinction, from Wayne State University School of Law in 1956.

Mr. Wood, a former officer in the United States Coast Guard, is legal counsel for Greater Metropolitan Association of Realtors®. He has drafted and aided in the drafting of real estate forms used by attorneys and real estate professionals throughout the State of Michigan. Mr. Wood has lectured and taught numerous courses for real estate professionals and for the general public. In addition, Mr. Wood has counseled purchasers and sellers of commercial and residential real estate and advised buyers involved with complex financing.

Mr. Wood has worked closely with many businesses over 50 years, guiding each one on an individual basis to success and growth through years of economic cycles.

In his estate planning practice, Mr. Wood assists clients with the preservation of their assets and minimizing taxes through the use of trusts, including special needs trusts.

A member of the Michigan Bar Association and the Oakland County Bar Association, Mr. Wood is admitted to practice in all courts of the State of Michigan, including the State of Michigan Supreme Court, and is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan as well as the United States Supreme Court and the Internal Revenue Service.
